The South African-born comedian will join millions in applauding African music and maybe even crack one or two jokes as he hosts the star-studded award ceremony .
The prestigious award ceremony, which takes off on 22 October – sees music heavyweights from different countries all across the globe gather to celebrate their craft.
On expressing his excitement for being chosen as the frontman of the ceremony, Trevor took to social media to say the following:
"I'm a huge fan of African music and achievement, and it's going to be a massive pleasure celebrating them both at the MTV Africa Music Awards 2016 in my own home town of Johannesburg."
