Mondays are usually reserved for trends such as #ManCrushMondays, however, last night saw the usual trend take a dramatic turn when the hashtag #FinePeopleFromSomalia took over Twitter. As we all know, nothing is official until it’s Twitter official.
With that being said, the #FinePeopleChallenge quickly gained momentum on Twitter and soon inspired people from Ghana, Ethiopia and Nigeria among others to follow suit.
And while we were all about admiring African beauty, South Africans quickly turned this into a national matter when they spotted a girl who resembled Boity.
When it landed on Boity’s timeline, she immediately decided to claim Brinney as her twin.
Reppin both SA and Somalia for my twin and I! 🤷🏾♀️😁😍😅❤️ pic.twitter.com/kfpHGp0DDt

Although the hashtags weren’t meant to ignite competition, it eventually did. Anyway, in the spirit of healthy competition, the pics came flooding in:

While people carried on with this challenge, some tweeps were quick to remind our sisters that no matter how much they claim to be beautiful, they still kneel when a Somalian woman is in their presence.

#FinePeopleFromSouthAfrica we lost cos y'all play too damn much. We are that smart as kid in class who would rather be the clown. #FinePeoplefromSomalia is that quiet kid that studies and gets all 18 distinctions in grade 12. pic.twitter.com/YnkAcRx2ir

But at least we got Boity, who looks the same as one of Somalia’s fine people right?
