On Sunday morning, Twitter was flooded with messages of disappointment from fans who attended the Migos Culture Tour.
South African fans of trap music have been anticipating the Migos culture tour for months but after Saturday night’s drama, many were left disappointed, tired and downright angry.
That’s because most acts, including the Migos Group, failed to perform on time!
Now Mabala Noise, who organised the event, has come out to explain the delay in starting the concert.
According to a statement released by Mabala Noise this morning, wild storms on the night are to blame.
Just after 7pm on Saturday evening, a massive storm descended on Johannesburg, which, according to the record label, significantly affected some of the access control points and the electronic accreditation systems.
In the best interests of public safety, the decision was made to pause the live performances until the access points were operating effectively and the safety of patrons could be assured.
“The safety of the fans was paramount. The time taken to ensure that the event could continue safely caused the delay to the concert schedule and timings had to be adjusted accordingly,” the statement reads.
All booked South African artists were backstage and made aware of the situation.
“We would like to thank all the fans and supporters who came out to The Dome on Saturday to the Migos SA Tour,” said Mabala Noise spokesperson, Sikhulile Nzuza.
