While tennis champion, Serena Williams is over the moon over her engagement to tech entrepreneur Alexis Ohanian, we are wondering if the pair is our new 2017 celebrity power couple.

The 35-year-old athlete announced the good news in a form of a poem on Thursday via Reddit, the chat website her new fiancé co-founded in 2005.

Although her poetic skills are not as sharp as her tennis skills, she sure gave us a romantic image with the following post:

“I came home. A little late. Someone had a bag packed for me. And a carriage waited. Destination: Rome…”

On describing the romantic setting of the Italian city, Serena says Rome is “the place where our stars first collided”.

Although the city does a lot when it comes to mood setting, one can never compare it to how Serena describes Alexis’s way of popping the question to her, revealing the proposal took place at the venue where they first met.

“At the same table we first met by chance, this time he made it not by chance, but by choice,” she wrote.

She ended the sweet poem by adding: “Down on one knee, he said 4 words… And I said yes,” how romantic!

The pair has been together since 2015, and until today, they have shown nothing but love for each other.

Earlier this year, Serena once revealed that she wants to have children as soon as she settles down with the right partner.

“I definitely want to have kids one day,” she told America’s Glamour magazine. “That’s always something I’ve wanted as long as I could remember. And the older I get, the more I’m like, ‘I’m too young!’

“Hopefully I’ll be able to mature one of these days, get serious, and at least have them (kids) pretty fast.”

Judging from the long line of suitors Serena has dated (filmmaker Brett Ratner, basketball player Amar’e Stoudemire, actor Hosea Chanchez, Common, and sportsmen C.C. Sabbathia and Keyshawn Johnson,) we are quite positive that Alexis is the right man for Serena.
