Big Brother Mzansis alleged rape scandal confirmed but is still being investigated

While M-Net and the Big Brother Mzansi producers Endemol investigate an incident that led to the expulsion of a housemate, the show goes on

After hours of speculation, Mzansi Magic has confirmed that the alleged misconduct which led to the expulsion of one male housemate and the removal of a female contestant from the Big Brother Mzansi house was of a sexual nature.

“At this stage, it is not exactly clear what transpired between Bexx and Adams. Having suspected that there may have been an incident of sexual misconduct, Mzansi Magic acted by removing both individuals from the house,” the statement read.

The pair implicated in this incident had become close, and even intimate in the past week. While the Twitter rumor mill is convinced that a sexual assault took place, some say that the victim merely complained about the male contestant wanting to rape her in her drunken state on Saturday evening.

The pair are currently receiving support from Mzansi Magic and have been placed in the care of professionals. They’ve also been granted opportunities to get in touch with family and friends.

All the housemates are aware of the rules of the show. Any incident that affects the health and wellbeing of the contestants is treated seriously and action will always be taken swiftly and appropriately.

Meanwhile, their partners Tembi (Tembela Magandela-Mthupha) and Soxx (Sokhana Ralane) were given the option to remain in the house and form a pair, which they have agreed to.

In the interim, Big Brother has announced that there would be no evictions this week.
