Heres how Masasa outgrew the pain of being called too ugly for Scandal!

She may be considered as one of the best actresses in the industry, but Masasa Mbangeni had to carry a heavy-load of critics and social media hate to reach where she is today.

Standing tall today,  Masasa Mbangeni opened up about the hatred she has received on social media and being verbally bullied by fans during the early days of her career, which went as far as asking etv’ Scandal! bosses to remove her on set because she was "too ugly."

"In the early days of my career, I used to suffer really bad bullying on social media: fans of the show (Scandal!) would demand that I be removed from it because I was ‘too ugly,’” she expressed.

This is the second time the intrinsic actor has spoken about her battles with depression, In May, she revealed that she previously had to deal with people calling her "a decadent actress‚ a gold digger‚ a psychopathic b**ch and a spoilt brat."

‘’I remembered who I really am‚ the sacrifices that have been made for me to pursue my calling. Yes‚ one gets weary and yes‚ you start to believe that you're a psychotic gold digging bitch at times but then God sends His angels to remind you‚ in the midst of the noise‚ that you are a good person," she said.

When asked how she managed to get over social media hate, Masasa said: "It was only through loving myself as I am that my internal world changed- and thus my external world too," said Masasa.

If you are going through the same, if not slightly similar situation… look up to her, motivate and brace yourself because Masasa is truly an inspiration to many African women who are tired of being judged for being themselves, and not what society wants them to be.
