Zoleka Mandela goes bald due to chemotherapy!

Most definitely, heroic tendencies are intrinsic to the Mandela clan as the great Nelson Mandela’s granddaughter, Zoleka Mandela strives for victory in the fight against cancer.

Due to the wearying chemotherapy sessions, Zoleka has been losing her hair day-in and day-out, but instead of giving in to defeat, she's decided to go bald by completely shaving off her hair.

"Sunday, 21st August 2016 marks the day I finally shaved off the little hair my chemotherapy left on my head! The eyebrows are on their way too as you can see but it all grows back," she said.

Zoleka, since news of her battle with cancer emerged – has been an inspiration not only to her followers, but to other cancer sufferers as well. When asked about how losing her hair is affecting her, a brave Zoleka responded:

"I'm not bothered! I don't mind that my chin hairs are no longer growing either, I was never into the Catfish look anyway!!!"

With 8 more sessions of chemo to go, one would expect the patient to be exhausted and pessimistic about the outcomes, but Zoleka has proven to be no victim of cancer and says that she feels strong.

"I feel completely liberated at this point and much stronger too! Time to knock the next 8 sessions out the ball park."

Zoleka was first diagnosed with breast cancer about five years ago and had been in remission until in May this year when she announced that her battle with cancer was not over after a cancerous lump was discovered in her breast.

This resulted in her having to go through operations to try and remove the tumour and reconstruct her breast.

We at EntertainmentSA wish her a speedy recovery and still see Zoleka as a true hero who will rise again from this temporal fall…
