Flabbas Killer – claims she killed him in self-defence

Flabba’s Killer has pleaded Not Guilty at the Alexandra Magistrates Court,

Murder-accused Sindisiwe Manqela has claimed that she killed the former Skwatta Kamp group member in self-defence, eNCA reports.

The state is opposing bail in the matter as they believe the accused is a danger to herself following her attempted suicide.

The scene outside the Johannesburg court ahead of Manqele’s appearance was calm. Police tape kept members of the public and media away from the court entrance, as only Habedi and Manqele’s family members were being allowed inside.

Curious onlookers watched as the media set up cameras on the pavement outside the court. Only authorised members of the press were allowed inside the court room.

This quiet scene was in contrast to the chaos outside the court following Manqele’s first appearance last Monday, the same day Habedi was killed, and she was arrested.

At that time, Alexandra residents clashed with a group of women and a man, believed to be Manqele’s relatives. The two groups traded insults, and the residents insisted Manqele should not be granted bail.

Habedi (38) was stabbed to death at his Alexandra home in the early hours of Monday, 9 March, allegedly by Manqele. Police were called to the scene at 4am.

Family spokesman Tshepang Habedi said his brother had been stabbed once in the heart.

According to a Sunday World report, 26-year-old Manqele met Flabba while still in high school and they remained friends for a long time before becoming an item.

Manqele has been based in Dublin, Ireland for four years, studying economics and staying with her Nigerian boyfriend who had no idea she was two timing him with Flabba here in South Africa. She was meant to return on 28 February, but it’s unknown why she didn’t do so.
