Tina Knowles and Richard Lawson, who got engaged late last year, reportedly got married on Sunday on a yacht off the coast of California
According to TMZ, Tina Knowles (61), tied the knot for the second time, with partner of almost two years, 67-year-old Richard Lawson.
TMZ reports that it was an all-white affair with both of Tina’s daughters, Beyoncé and Solange, as well as her granddaughter Blue Ivy and son-in law Jay Z decked out in white.
It had been rumoured that the pair actually married in October last year, but that was quickly proven to be false.
Knowles divorced her husband of over three decades, Mathew Knowles (63), in 2011. He has also since remarried – tying the knot with former model Gena Charmaine Avery in 2013. Neither of his two daughters could attend the nuptials because of previous engagements.
Last year, at the International Women & Money Leadership Luncheon in Houston, Texas, Tina Knowles shared how her divorce had completely destroyed her self-esteem.
“[Divorce] does something to your whole self-esteem and psyche, because I had been married for 33 years . . . When something strikes you like that, it takes the breath out of you. But my fight came back. I let myself feel sorry for myself for a minute and then I said: ‘You know, I’m so blessed to have all the opportunities that I have. And I don’t have the right to feel sorry.'”
Knowles and her new hubby, Lawson, best known for his work on the popular US soapie All My Children, were friends for decades before they became romantically involved.
“It’s now been a year and five months and I’m in a committed relationship with that handsome man,” Knowles said of Lawson at the Texas luncheon. “And I’m the happiest I’ve been in a long, long time.”
