More trouble for Dj Sbu – Mofaya is not SABS approved

Sbusiso "DJ Sbu" Leope's Mofaya has hit another hurdle – this time from the SABS.

"The SABS has recently identified a number of companies that have violated its legislation by appending the SABS mark of approval on their products without going through the proper certification process.

"One such company, which has been active on the issue of the SABS mark of approval on social media, produces the energy drink, Mofaya," the company said in a media statement.

"The product must pass various SABS protocols," Frank Makamo, the executive responsible for certification said in the statement, "and this involves factory inspections, laboratory tests and SABS Accreditation Approvals Board sign off. Only after these rigorous processes have been completed and passed, can the SABS mark of approval be affixed to the product” Times Live reports

DJ Sbu's eagerness to market his energy drink has previously resulted in the SABC charging him for every time he mentioned it on air at Metro FM, and then sacking him.

Then he got into a fight with Forbes, which has since been amicably settled, over a spoofed magazine cover.

He has since been hired by Cliff Central – for a show sponsored by the energy drink.
