Fast food chain company KFC has demanded an apology from a customer who made a claim that that the company sold him a rat instead of chicken.
The alleged incident took place at a KFC outlet in Los Angeles, California. This come weeks after a few KFC franchises in South Africa were hit with different scandals
The company, which owns franchises around the world made headlines last week when a California man, Devorise Dixon, accused KFC of selling him a rat instead of chicken.
Consumers around the world were angered last week, when an image of a piece of crumbed ‘chicken’ shaped like a rat, with what that looked like a long tail, online. The photo was first posted online on 12 June and went viral, The Los Angeles Times reports.
Following the allegation made by Dixon, the company conducted tests to verify his claims and the tests proved that the meat that Dixon alleged was a rat, was in fact chicken.
The company has now demanded an apology from Dixon for his false claims.
KFC Africa Managing Director Doug Smart said at the time that after an investigation it had been discovered that the chicken was not meant for customers, EyeWitness News reported.
