South Africa's "Blade Runner", Oscar Pistorius, was released on parole on Monday night, just short of a year into his five-year sentence for killing his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp.
Meanwhile social media is trending with comments of anger that reveals how the public is distressed about Oscar’s one year sentence. One of the comments read as follows; “A year for taking a life. I feel for Reeva's family, that the law thinks that's all the sentence her death deserved.”
Entertainment SA has established from other sources that the disgraced Paralympic gold medallist must serve the rest of his sentence under house arrest.
However he cannot relax yet as he still has to face the November appeal by Prosecutor who argue that he should have been convicted of murder rather than culpable homicide, the equivalent of manslaughter.
A spokeswoman for the Pistorius family confirmed that the family is happy and they are not forgetting the fact that Oscar continues to serve his sentence.
