Pay TV platform Multichoice has launched a new DSTV channel called GauTV, the channel went live on the 19th October 2015 on channel 265 and is available for viewing to DSTV Premium, DSTV Extra, DSTV Compact, DSTV Family and DSTV access subscribers.
The channel which is produced by Zallywood Productions will be broadcast exclusively to Gauteng DSTV subscribers and will initially be live for 12 hours per day from 06:00 – 18:00 with promises of extending viewing hours in the future.
According to a press release, “the channel will aim to be the voice of Gauteng by reflecting the rich diversity of the province – from Sandton lifestyles to the existence of Bekkersdal Township from prominent individuals in society to ordinary Gautengers”.
The channel joins SowetoTV as the second Gauteng only station, and it will cover issues that are Gauteng based and focused. The station’s schedule will cover news, sport, soaps, movies, drama series as well as factual and documentary features.

Showbizz 411 is a talk show about weekly celebrity and entertainment news, exclusive interviews with the hottest stars, red carpet coverage, reviews and fashion, hosted by the popular Lexi Van of the Big Brother game. Picture Perfect will provide beauty tips, facial makeovers and exquisite aesthetics pampering. Assertiveness is an edgy talk show for the youth by the youth, tackling taboo and day to day topics with studio guests debating freely and unhindered
