Ever wondered what South African Mayors get up to? Well wonder no more and tune into Mzansi Magic this week for a thrilling comedy called; THE MAYOR.
This new Comedy show is about to rock TV viewers with a new mayor, who will show some of his family and work drama,. The Mayor character follows the life of OJ Mabunda, an extravagant mayor that has to keep his growing polygamous family together while running a fabricated city life.
The role of the mayor is played by none other than veteran actor, Lucky Legodi, aka Bra Bizza.
Legodi is a well – known legendary actor and teacher who rose to success in the 90's.
Speaking in an interview conducted by SunBuzz, Bra Bizza said working on this set was more fun than he had expected.
"Maybe this is just a confirmation that I will eventually go on to become a mayor in real life," he said, jokingly. "I am so happy that I am getting a chance to be back on TV and make people laugh," he said. Although he appears in all the 13 episodes, he seems to love every moment of the challenges and pressure.
To name just a few other cast members, the comedy includes the likes of Vicky Konte, who plays the mayor's first wife, Bianca Le Grange as the second wife, Fiona Ramsay, comedian, Ntobeko "Ntosh" Madlingozi, actress and TV presenter Thuli Thabethe as Mercia and Rea Rangaka.
Just a little insight of the comedy, the mayor and his first wife have two children, the eldest of whom is Boy-Boy, played by the cracking Ntobeko. Bianca, the second wife, has trouble settling in when she has to move into the main house with the first wife.
