Trevor Noah signs a R49million book deal.

Funny man Trevor Noah has signed a deal with publisher’s Spiegel and Grau to write a book about his life, this book will be in the form of a series of essays chronicling his upbringing in the last days of apartheid South Africa, and in the infancy of the new democratic dispensation that followed soon thereafter.

“Trevor Noah is a naturally brilliant storyteller — funny and light on his feet, but with moments of true depth and emotional resonance. He has a remarkable tale to tell. We’re very excited to bring Trevor’s vivid and original voice to readers in this book about the power and necessity of laughter even — or especially — in the face of the world’s absurdities and injustices,” said Chris Jackson, Executive Editor at Spiegel and Grau.

Although the publishers haven’t officially announced how much the deal is worth, the Hollywood Reporter has reportedly said that the deal is worth a cool $3billion (R49million). The book, which has no name as yet, is due for release in November and will see the comedian join the likes of other famous comedians Tina Fey, and Mindy Kaling who have also released their “memoirs” that have done exceptionally well.

EntertainmentSA salutes Trevor Noah for making it in the very hard to break American entertainment industry.  Nice job if you can get it.
