    Gareth interviews Rebecca on CliffCentral.com

No one can dispute the fact that Rebecca Malope is the country’s foremost gospel artist and that she has attained success and fame throughout her long career in music.

On Monday, 01, January, 2016 she was interviewed on Cliff Central by Gareth Cliff and opened up about her past life of growing up in extreme poverty and of how her father ill-treated her mother  and then later having to forgive him.

On the show, Rebecca Malope opened up about a whole lot of issues including the painful news of her sister’s passing at the hands of her boyfriend, who shot her dead as well her having to raise her sister’s three young children at the time, who are today all adults with a good education and good jobs – something she never had the opportunity of having.

Rebecca also went on to talk about her saddest moment of how when in 2004 she went through a miscarriage which took her a long time to get over as she was in denial about the news.

“I felt really bad because, at that time, when your siblings have passed on and your mother has passed on, you feel alone. I needed someone, I needed a friend. That child would be my friend," she told Cliff on live radio.

It seems like the queen of gospel has had to endure pretty testing circumstances to come out where she is today. We say salute. Listen to the full interview podcast on Cliffcentral.com
