Just a few days ago Entertainment SA published an article about how celebrities play a huge role in the society, more especially the upcoming youth who look up to them as role models.
But their way of handling challenges on social media makes us wonder whether they were told that the quickest way to fame is creating unnecessary drama, as much as it hurts to admit these, it seems to be working for most celebrities.
Apparently there’s another celebrity scandal between award-winning Afro-soul singer Simphiwe Dana and Ntsiki Mazwai, this followed after Ntsiki’s tweet on Monday claimed Dana’s career started when she took part in an open mic session Ntsiki had hosted. And Dana said she didn’t remember.
The exchange of tweets went on and on until to such a point where Ntsiki tweeted, without mentioning names that she didn’t sleep her way to the top. Dana took offence at this and to a statement Ntsiki made about alcoholism making people forget things.
And Yesterday, Dana released a statement saying she was taking legal action over the tweets.
“It read: They are false and defamatory. Moving forward, Dana will be taking legal action against Ntsiki Mazwai for her tweets as they may cause reputational damage to her personal brand and brands in partnership with her.”
The feud didn’t just end there; Ntsiki took to Twitter a few minutes later to say:
“Media alert: Just because I don’t have time to engage with journalists it doesn’t mean they must lie about me. We can all take legal action.”
