Pearl’s fans are all over the moon as they get to hear their idol’s voice once more on air after a dispute betwixt her and the SABC.
The dispute that resulted because of Pearl’s sharp eye on greener pastures that led her to ‘’quit’’ her Live AMP job on SABC 1 earlier this year to join MTV’s new Lip Sync Battle Africa as co-presenter.
From the paparazzi’s point of view, the SABC did not find this as exciting as Pearl did… this resulted in them deciding to tell the local TV personality to pack her belongings as they suspended her Metro FM contract.
Surprisingly, the big bosses decided to let bygones be bygones by giving her a second chance.
A Press statement issued by the SABC on Wednesday declares that:
The SABC’s Chief Operations Officer, Hlaudi Motsoeneng, confirmed that all disputes betwixt the SABC and Pearl, are water under the bridge.
The presser said: “In order for us to compete effectively, I have instructed management to ensure consistent application of the SABC’s directive regarding On-Air talent working for direct competitors.
“To this end and with due regard to the circumstances relating to the termination of Ms. Pearl Thusi’s contract with the SABC, the corporation resolved to reinstate Ms. Thusi’s services as an On-Air Personality. In this particular instance the directive was not applied consistently and appropriate action will be considered.”
No wonder Emtee did a track for this glamorous lady… she’s a fighter… who takes no for an answer… we should look up to her.
