The SABC has confirmed that they are in talks with Pearl Thusi over her future at Metro FM.
Pearl Thusi, who was previously suspended along with her co-host, Phat Joe over their comments about fellow Metro FM presenter, Bonang Matheba, was back on air for just a day after the issue was sorted out and now it seems she has been subsequently suspended again. SABC spokesperson, Kazier Kganyago, confirmed that the first issue was sorted out and that she was back on air during the Metro Awards. However, another issue had arisen and she is again in talks with management over that.
Asked if that other issue was the fact she will be working for a rival broadcaster, Kganyago refused to comment, instead saying that "it's a matter between Pearl and her employer" he further stated that he couldn't go into any more details, but could only say at the moment, Pearl's future is indeed being discussed by both parties.
Kganyago also brushed off reports and speculations that Pearl was fired from SABC 1's Live Amp show because she had accepted a job at rival station, DSTV's, MTV Base, he said that she had decided to resign from the show on her own accord.
Recently, Pearl was announced as the host of MTV's Lip Sync Battle Africa, a position insiders say has the SABC fuming as it doesn't promote their presenters working for rival broadcasters. Various other presenters, including Bonang Matheba have also faced similar clashed with the SABC in the past, but they managed to resolve their differences.
