Generations: The Legacy’s hunky star Vuyo Dabula has strongly dismissed allegations that he refused to hug a fan, allegedly because the fan had ‘’bad body odour.’’
Vuyo has spent the past week dispelling talks which he deems untrue from making headlines, this after a disgruntled fan accused him of being too ‘’cheesy’’ by refusing to hug her, allegedly because she smelled bad. The female fan claimed that Vuyo allegedly told her to "take a good bath before asking for a hug."
Speaking to reporters, he emphasized the fact that ‘’there are two sides to a story,’’ as he denied the claims, which he labelled as "unjustified."
On refusing to hug a 'smelly' fan:
Vuyo said that he's greatly disappointed by the reports because it doesn't make any sense nor does it have any base of truth to it. The incident which threw Vuyo into the spotlight, apparently took place at the recent Metro FM Awards held in Durban.
"I walked the black carpet like everyone else, stopped for pictures and interviews, greeted fans along the way and entered the venue. When I entered the venue I was told that I needed to go back because fans really wanted more pictures. This was unusual, but I did go back," Vuyo explained.
He further stated;
"As with any major event fans were incredibly enthusiastic. I shook hands and hugged many people, but there were also many people that I couldn't get to. It's not because I didn't want to, but because the logistics of the situation just didn't allow me to – there were hundreds of fans pushing towards the barrier to grab my attention."
Vuyo added that it definitely wasn't his intentional gesture to purposely not greet some fans. "There were many people that I didn't get to greet or hug, who is justified enough to be disgruntled in a situation like this?," he questioned.
The actor doesn't understand how it can be reported that he refused a fan a hug when there many other people clamouring for a hug who he did not get it. The hunky actor says hes genuine person and he doesn't mind hanging out with regular people as they are his fans.
We at EntertainmentSA feel it’s just a case of a disgruntled fan who never got to feel the arms of the hot actor.
