1 million followers on Twitter for AKA and Black Coffee!!

Talented rapper AKA, who also happens to be South Africa’s most downloaded and play listed musician,  has made twitter history by becoming the first local artist to reach a 1-million followers mark on the social site. AKA might have been the first one to reach that mark but he isn't alone with over 1-million followers, he shares that title with another musician, DJ Black Coffee , who has also just reached 1 million followers.

AKA’s fans have shown great support towards his music inspite of his Twitter meltdowns and bad publicity – which got even more intense during his beefing with fellow rapper Cassper Nyovest. Surprisingly, all of that has awarded him with nothing but good downloads and ticket sales.

Speaking to City Press, AKA reveals that there was a point where his management advised him to cease Twitting for a while because it brought nothing but a negative impact on his brand, hence he took a break from his @akaworldwide account. But since he’s preparing for a new tour and a new album drop, he’ll need his new social media mark for support from fans and followers.
