On Saturday Beyoncé dropped a new visual album titled Lemonade on HBO and just like the actual fruit is certainly not sweet and all things nice but it is LIT nonetheless.
The video kicks off with Beyoncé sitting in front of a red-velvet curtain, where she sings: "You can taste the dishonestly, it's on your breath … I tried to make a home out of you, but doors led to trapdoors. A stairway leads to nothing,’’.
The lyrics go on to say: "what's worse, looking jealous or crazy? Jealous or crazy? They don't love you like I love you. Can't you see there's no other man above you? What a wicked way to treat the one who loves you."
Throughout the album, references are made to an unfaithful husband, its ensuing emotional pain and a couple's confrontation.
The song and music video has fed the rumour mill with fans wondering aloud on social media if perhaps Beyoncé was trying to saying something about her own marriage to rapper and music mogul Jay-Z. Could he be cheating on Mrs Carter? Tell us what you think, did you love the song and what do you think of the music and finally, do you think there is trouble in paradise between Mr and Mrs Carter?
