The year 2016 marks the tenth anniversary of the annual Back To The City festival, which is well known for celebrating hip hop music and culture, and surely it probably marks the first year to have so much drama with celebrity pull-outs.
First it was AKA, now, for some understandable reasons, self-proclaimed Umswenko king, Riky Rick Makhado will also not be a part of this year's Back To The City (BTTC) festival.
One fan asked the rapper on Twitter if he’ll be present at the BTTC festival to entertain fans with his tracks like Boss Zonke, and his response was:
"Unfortunately not‚ Im gonna be in Europe"‚ read the first tweet‚ which was followed by "I was booked but had to cancel" in the thread between him and the fan.
This news comes as a shock to many loyal local hip hop fans, just day ago we published an article on how rapper AKA has also decided to pull out of the festival on the same platform – twitter. Due to differences he was having with the events organisers.
It makes one wonder, how the festival will turn out since the two big local acts have pull out, will the festival be good enough for entertainment freaks without these two bigshots?
