The rise of divorce parties!

Doesn’t it make you wonder why a person would choose to celebrate a divorce instead of crying over it?  The end of marriage is supposed to be a time of sadness and is usually filled with grief and regret.

However, we are slowly seeing a new trend whereby women are choosing to rather celebrate the break-up instead. One of the episodes on Diski Divas showed the girls throwing a surprise divorce party for their friend.

Even Katie Price decided to celebrate the end of her marriage by throwing a R20 million, three-day party.

Some people feel that there is absolutely nothing wrong with celebrating the end of a divorce especially if this will help bring you closure. Some relationship experts say this is when a ‘divorce party is most advantageous’ according to Women24.

‘A party with close friends will help break the ice and alleviate the stigma and uneasiness associated with the end of the marriage’ advises Carolyn from Women24.
