Renowned Congolese Rhumba king, Papa Wemba collapsed and died while performing on stage in the early hours of Saturday morning.
His death follows that of American superstar Prince, who was found by his personal assistant on Friday Morning.
News of the internationally renowned musician's death, Papa Wemba hit news portals and social media on Sunday‚ after music festival organisers released a statement confirming the tragedy behind his sudden death.
The 66-year-old musician collapsed during a performance at the Urban Music Festival in Ivory Coast on Saturday night. Papa Wemba rose to fame for mixing his African heritage and culture with Western pop‚ rap and rock music.
The legendary muso also had an eye for fashion, as he was responsible for making Super fashion‚ an exquisite combination of three-piece suits‚ shiny black leather shoes and flashy accessories a popular fashion trend.
