Drake's new album Views has just broken streaming records following its three-weeks of being on the shelves. This marital achievement beats Beyoncé's album Lemonade, which pulled in 115 million streams when it was released in April by a milestone.
Drake’s album has grabbed a total of 572 million streams in the US alone, not to mention that it was streamed 245 million times on the first week of release – when it was only available on Apple Music.
In just two weeks of release, it had already racked up 141 million streams before shooting up to 185 million streams last week when it was channelled to other streaming services and devices.
Thus, the 26-year-old rapper dislodges Justin Bieber to become the most-streamed/viewed artist on Spotify and to enhance it all, he was just hailed as ‘US number one’ when his single One Dance went skyrocket last week – although currently, Justin Timberlake sits on the top spot with his new single Can't Stop This Feeling.
We at EntertainmentSA would love to applaud Drake on this great achievement… well done Mr Toronto.
