While local musicians applauded SABC’s bosses for the decision of going 90% local music on radio stations under the SABC’s umbrella, musician LeAnne Dlamini ran a small Instagram campaign to complain about the low quality of local music being played on SABC radio.
"I feel like they aren't filtering what's being played. They aren't giving us music with good song writing, lyrical content and good production," cried LeAnne in a video posted on Instagram.
"It completely turns the listener off. Let’s spread it across all genres, let’s hear some good quality music."
In fact, LeAnne has several female artists on her list lined up for the SABC that she would personally love to hear more of.
She jets off by saying that she has no other choice but to listen to Highveld Radio, who sadly refuses to play her music. "I just can't listen to bad music."
