Local hip hop artist, Emtee, who cleaned up at the SAMA awards, in Durban on Saturday, has been nominated for a BET Award in the Viewers Choice category: Best New International Acts. Emtee, has been doing well ever since bursting onto the scene, with his debut album, Avery, he also received a number of awards at the Metro Awards, which were held in Durban earlier in the year.
Despite his winning streak, walking away with the BET Award isn’t guaranteed, as he has been nominated in a tightly contested category with very talented artists from around the world.
He will be facing up against the likes of: Falz (Nigeria), MHD (France), Tkay Maidza (Australia), WSTRN (UK) and Section Boyz (UK).
Fans can however boost his chances of winning by voting for him and other artists online on the BET.com website or by going on social media and voting there, to place your vote all you need to do is to tweet or tag @BET_intl on Twitter and, or Instagram, use the hashtag #ipick plus your intended nominees name.
Voting polls for the Viewer's Choice category is open, and will close on 22 June at 00:59. We wish all the nominees luck.
Drake currently leads with an impressive nine nominations including 'Best Male Hip Hop Artist,' 'Video of the Year,' and 'Best Collaboration' for his hit "Where Ya At" with fellow hip hop artist Future. He is closely followed by Beyoncé and Rihanna who both have five nominations each.
The BET Awards along with the BET Experience at L.A. LIVE are set to take place in Los Angeles from 23-26 June 2016.
