Mzansi Magic and Ferguson Productions are bringing yet another thrilling season of Rockville season 4. The high stakes drama which contrasts the very different worlds of northern Joburg against the backdrop of Soweto streets will be coming to your TV screen from Sunday, 10 July.
The series which took Mzansi by storm during its past three seasons returns with the much loved cast of Shonna Ferguson, playing JB, Connie Ferguson, playing Mavis, Gail Mabalane as Vicky and Boity Thulo as Mpho, alongside the other amazing actors who we’ve come to know and love.
This season viewers will be introduced to a cast of new characters, leading this charge of new characters is veteran actor, Sello Maake Ka-Ncube, who plays arch villain Rolex, as well as Themba Ndaba, who will be portraying the role of crooked officer, Ngema. And finally Thuli Thabethe will be coming in as a sultry temptress, Aliyah.
M-Net's Head of Drama, Reneilwe Sema commented on what's in store for viewers, "The theme this season is 'journeys to redemption'. Mavis tries to redeem broken family bonds, while JB, who has lost everything, is desperate to reconnect with loved ones in the midst of startling historic revelations."
There series also promises to touch on the current topical socio-economic issues, such as that of “the blessers culture” – teenagers/young adults dating older, married men for money.
"This season is set apart from previous editions, in that we now have two main villains, whose paths eventually cross – making for some intense clashes," Sema added.
