Whoever said Chris Brown was out of the game should rephrase. According to the RCA, CB’s latest studio album, Heartbreak on a Full Moon, has debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Hip-Hop/R&B chart and No. 3 on the Billboard 200. This makes Chris’ seventh album to hit No. 1 in his career.
As if that’s not enough humble pie for his haters, Breezy took to Instagram to reveal that his album is now certified gold. The album reportedly sold 68,000 units, with 25,000 of those sales being non-streaming, HotNewHipHop reports. “We did it! Ya’ll f**king did dat,” Brown wrote under a post on Instagram.
While Team Breezy has always had Brown’s back, there was some speculation about whether the singer could score big with a 45-track album. Following the album’s release on Oct. 31, Brown issued a list of instructions, telling fans how to purchase and consume the project. Shortly after, Brown expressed frustration with the RIAA for only counting three out of seven days in regards to his first-week sales. But it looks like time was not a factor here.
Heartbreak on a Full Moon features a stack of ballads and dance anthems, with special appearances from R. Kelly, Jhene Aiko, Usher, Gucci Mane, Young Thug, Future and many more. So if you thought Chris Brown’s career was done, think again.
