American sneaker expert Joe La Puma cannot get over the moment Kamala Harris confirmed her love for her Converse sneakers.

As much as the company has been around for a very long time, people still want to feel comfortable even when they are busy with their campaigns, and this shoe doesn’t seem to be going out of fashion any time soon. Joe La Puma told PageSix that he knew Kamala Harris was the real deal when she strode off a campaign airplane in a suit and Converse’s iconic Chuck Taylors.

“That moment — her wearing Converse — showed me the confidence that was built,” the host of Complex’s “Sneaker Shopping” told us. “The confidence from starting your day from the ground up and just being more comfortable in sneakers, and her getting off the plane in Converse and just being who she is — that’s what it’s about.”
