Enspired Women Magazine are officially residents of Jozi, our neighbors to be precise! The successful magazine launched a newly-improved one-of-a-kind office in Jozi on Saturday, December 5 and we are more than happy to pop in some time for coffee and a few celebrity gossip here and there!
Scores of business owners and enthusiast converged at the cosmopolitan Hilton Hotel in Sandton for a productive business breakfast session of networking, learning and celebration.
The event was well attended with honoured guests including reigning Ndebele leader, Queen Cynthia Khumalo Mzilikazi III, motivational speaker and football veteran and analyst Christophe Bongo and film producer and actor Sans Moonsamy among others.
In response to the recent growth and demand from readers needing more of their women, business, health issues, lifestyle, entertainment and fashion news, the entity has expanded their reach this side of the town.
Keeping guests entertained with her stellar emceeing talents was Eunice Mtetwa from ReIgnite services who was the program director for the day. Amid the esteemed speakers at the event were founder and CEO of Coneckt, Naomi Schauer, motivational speaker Queen Mkhize who gave the entrepreneurs a much needed dose of motivation as they closed off the stressful year, global entrepreneurship leader Vani Moodely who was also the keynote speaker, Director at Devrani Consult Ugeshree Thakurersad who reminded everyone that although 2020 may have been one the toughest years economically and otherwise, we all still had something to be thankful for.
Naomi Schauer delivered a touching speech on the plight of the Non-profit organisations (NPOs) sector. She said, however tough the Covid-19 pandemic may have been on businesses it was even worse for charity organisations because while more and more people suddenly became in need of the relief provided by these organisations, there were even less funds available for this support. “There are 200000 NGOs and the number is growing daily, and they are all in crisis. It is like they are in a wooden boat with a huge hole in it and all day long they are just taking the water out,” said Naomi.
As key note speaker global entrepreneurship leader and Enspired business contributor and partner Vani Moodley discussed the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic on the economy and how businesses could try and minimise the blow by becoming adaptable. She described the pandemic as the pandemic as the world’s worst economic down turn since the great depression.
“Policies need to be implemented to stop worse outcomes and necessary measures to reduce infections, protect lives and an investment in long-term human and economic health,” said Vani.
“With the economic fallout being acute in specific sectors, policymakers needed to implement targeted fiscal, monetary, and financial market measures to support affected households and businesses domestically,” she said.
Attendants expressed their support to Enspired as they embarked on their new venture. Head of the change management department at the City of Johannesburg, Gaynor Noyse also graced the event and expressed her support. “We would like to officially welcome Enspired to our beautiful city. We are glad that you’ve come to establish your business here and we look forward to a fruitful partnership. I think we can go a long way together and learn a lot from each other,” said Gaynor.
Enspired founder and director Reshma Maharaj, said she was pleased with turn out at the event and thanked the guests for sponsors for their unwavering support.
