Arthur Zwane and Dillon Sheppard take over the coaching reigns at Kaizer Chiefs

The Kaizer Chiefs management has heeded their supporters’ call for change and coaching staff with fresh and new ideas.

The club officially appoints Arthur Jabulani Zwane known to football fans as 10111 as the senior team’s head coach on a three-year deal, effective immediately.

Zwane will be assisted by Dillon Sheppard, who joined Chiefs in 2020.

Club legend Zwane has previously stood in as interim coach multiple times. Most recently in April following the sudden departure of head coach Stuart Baxter.

Zwane enjoyed a successful career as a player at the Soweto club from 2000 to 2010. He scored 32 goals in 252 appearances, helping the club win 12 major trophies, including the CAF Cup Winners Cup, 2 league titles, the MTN8, Coca Cola Cup, Absa Cup, BP Top8, and the Telkom Knockout.

Following his retirement in 2010, Zwane began working with the Chiefs Youth Academy Development programme in 2012, holding posts with the U-13, U-17, and U-19 teams for a period of four seasons before moving up to coach the Club’s Reserve Team.

He also studied for his coaching badges and obtained a UEFA B Licence Coaching Badge, as well as CAF A and B Licence Coaching Badges.

The club’s Chairman Kaizer Motaung says it’s been their plan to appoint Zwane as head coach. “The plan we have been working on for many years of appointing Arthur as our Head Coach has come to fruition. After seeing his passion for the game and his willingness to learn, we have been looking to bring him through to lead the senior when the time is right and we believe that time is now,” he said in part.
