Ukhozi FM’s DJ Sgqemeza back on airwaves following suspension

Popular Ukhozi FM deejay Sipho Mbatha also known as DJ Sgqemeza has returned to the airwaves after he was suspended last month.

The South African Broadcasting Corporation, announced the news that the veteran radio host was unscheduled for the breakfast show.

Together with two other breakfast show members, Sgqemeza was taken off air in May but he is now back to his job much to the delight of his fans.

The Durban-based radio station, Ukhozi FM management released a media statement stating that it regrets to inform its listeners that three members of the breakfast show team had been unscheduled following an internal probe.

The trio included DJ Sgqemeza, the host of the breakfast show, and two producers of the show, Vuka Mzansi Breakfast Show.

Mbatha returned to the slot on Monday morning and shared the news with his fans through her social media pages.

A week before the major announcement, the seasoned DJ posted that he had a big decision to make before Monday.

“Big decision to make before Monday the 20th, not my will but thine will be done,” he wrote.

Ukhozi FM bosses made it clear that they are not willing to discuss the matter further because it was based on the employer-employee relationship governed by the SABC’s policies.

Meanwhile, Siya Mhlongo acted as the stand-in presenter co-hosting the breakfast show and working with Nonhlanhla ‘Mroza’ Buthelezi.
