WATCH: Remember when Mzansi was taught how to wear face masks?

As of Wednesday, South Africans no longer need to wear masks indoors in public settings.

For most, this is a step forward as country in moving away from the grip of COVID-19.

Limits on gatherings, and border checks – including for vaccination status – have also been dropped.

Health minister Joe Phaahla repealed the relevant regulations with a simple notice in the Government Gazette, the import of which was not immediately evident because of the technical nature of the notice.

While this is great news, especially for the entertainment industry, we can’t help but remember some funny moments during the introduction of face masks in the country. Let’s take a look below:

Rama-blunder

25 Apr 2020 South Africa’s President Cyril Ramaphosa struggled to put on a facemask on after delivering a speech on the importance of wearing them.
