Sebastien Haller is suffering from a testicular tumour

German Bundesliga outfit Borussia Dortmund have confirmed that their striker Sebastien Haller is suffering from a testicular tumour.

The Cote d’Ivoire striker has since left their pre-season camp that is set up in Switzerland following the tumour that was found on his testicle.

The club is fully behind the tall striker and announced that the 28-year-old Elephants international will receive the best treatment.

Haller joined the German side from Dutch giants, Ajax Amsterdam, earlier this month and the footballer has also shared a social media post, acknowledging the messages of support.

Dortmund said Haller initially complained that he felt unwell after training on Monday before medical tests were conducted and a testicular tumour was discovered.

“Thank you all for your many messages of support and affection since yesterday’s announcement. My family and I thank you. I will now focus on my recovery to come back stronger,” he wrote on Tuesday.

The club’s sporting director, Sebastian Kehl, said the news came as a shock to the entire squad and reaffirmed their support for the target man.

“This news came as a shock to Sebastien Haller and everyone else,” he said.

“The entire BVB family hopes that Sebastien makes a full recovery as soon as possible and that we can give him a hug again soon.

“We’ll do everything in our power to ensure that he receives the best possible treatment.”

Messages of support are also pouring from football players such as Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham and Haller’s former West Ham team-mate Declan Rice, his former club Ajax are among others who have posted their messages.
