Royal AM FC’s President Shauwn Mkhize launches Women’s Football Club 

Shawn Mkhize is changing the football game for the better! As if being one of the most influential women in the PSL was not enough, she has launched a women’s football club.

With the rise of ladies football in South Africa, Royal AM Football Club is proud to announce the launch of their own women’s team, Royal AM Ladies FC.

The South African Football Association (SAFA) approved the sale of the franchise, change of name and home ground venue of the existing team, Bloemfontein Celtic Ladies FC, who will now form part of the Royal AM family. KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) will now boast two teams participating in the Hollywoodbets Super League, namely the Durban Ladies. FC and now Royal AM Ladies F.C.

The ladies team also announced a new partnership with World Sports Betting, who welcomed this big step in making sure that women’s football thrives in SA. “As a company we are excited to get behind the Royal AM Ladies team, there has never been a better time than now to get involved in Women’s Soccer. Supporters can look forward to great promotions and campaigns in the months to come, said Warren Tannous, CEO, World Sports Betting.

Ms Shauwn Mkhize confirmed that the brand is fully equipped and ready to manage and run the women’s team which has now relocated to Royal AM’s Headquarters in Pietermaritzburg, KZN.

Royal AM Ladies FC, currently fifth on the log have displayed quality football and have made great strides in showcasing their talent and skills on the field. The squad will play its remaining matches as Royal AM Ladies FC led by the same, strong technical team and Head coach Thato Haraba.

“It’s great to see how women’s football has started to reach the radar of many South Africans. With the increase in investment, sponsorship and development, the long term goal is to level the playing field with our male counterparts.” said Mkhize

“Now is the time to put the spotlight on women’s football, the success of Banyana Banyana is a prime example of why we need to make even more strides in advancing its professionalism not only in SA but on the African continent.” she concluded.

Royal AM FC would like to wish Banyana Banyana all the best as they aim to clinch the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations title for the first time.
