May Edochie, the first wife of veteran Nollywood actor, Yul Edochie, has revealed how she fought and survived depression after her husband took a second wife.

Recall that Yul Edochie caused controversy online after he embraced polygamy, announcing the birth of his son with his second wife.

The actor and his second wife, Judy Austin worked together on several movies which brought their attention to Nigerians.

His decision was widely criticized, however, the actor cum politician insisted that his first wife still remains number one

May Edochie the mother of four, who has continued to receive comfort from Nigerians, faulted people who accused her of making a fortune out of her predicament.

In a video, the actor’s wife recounted how she survived a terrible depression, noting that rather than dwelling in it, she picked up the beautiful world she once had and moved on.

She said, “I saw a few comments, some people say that May is using this to cash out. I am like, okay, it is fine. I am cashing out, right? I don’t wish this upon my enemy if at all I have any. I do not think I have enemies. Depression is real and there are different stages of depression. For me, rather than dwell in depression, I decided to pick up the pieces of a beautiful world that I had.

“It hasn’t been easy. Am glad that I look happy and I appear strong. I am happy, I am glad that I am able to go out and do things. I am surprised at the things that I do. It’s all because of the love and support from my family and you all. These are the things that have kept me going. Honestly speaking people say I aspire and motivate them but the truth is it’s you guys that have inspired me”.
