One of South Africa’s premium restaurants, Tashas, has set its sights on entering the English market in the United Kingdom.
The family-owned establishment seeks to grow beyond South Africa and open in six new locations such as the UK, United Arab Emirates, and in places such as Pretoria.
Tashas is one of the well-known outlets in South Africa that is simply because of its delicious food and fine recipes – the owner, Natasha Sideris explains their ambitions.
Sideris is the founder of the company and recently chatted to Moneyweb regarding their plans as far as making a name in the global space.
“Since buying back the Group from Famous Brands in 2019, we have been moving forward both locally and on the international hospitality scene,” said the CEO.
“We have now reached the point where we are able to make significant strides in our expansion plans.”
As things stand, the popular establishment boasts 15 locations in South Africa coupled with nine in the UAE.
The publication reports that Tashas aims to first launch ‘Flamingo Room by Tashas’ in Saudi Arabia in the fourth quarter of 2022 and in Abu Dhabi in the opening quarter of next year.
“Flamingo Room is the ultimate expression of my South African roots and the epitome of old-school dining with a contemporary twist,” added Sideris.
“After its major success in Dubai, we think it is time to expand and widen our horizons across the region and hopefully globally.”
Looking at the offerings, they have a variety of restaurant formats, the original is Tashas, Le Parc and Flamingo Room by Tashas, but new concepts such Bungalo34 and Nala will form part of the expansion.
On top of their new additions, the group is locked in talks to open a food and retail emporium Le Parc by Tashas in the UAE following the first such store opened in Johannesburg’s Hyde Park Corner last year.
