    Super striker Robert Lewandowski set to earn R155m a year at Barcelona

    After joining Barcelona from Bayern Munich and confirmed last weekend, Poland striker Robert Lewandowski’s salary has been revealed.

    The lanky hitman made headlines this weekend when he completed his long-awaited move to the Spanish La Liga outfit.

    According to football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the tall striker will colect around €9 million (R155 million) a year in Spain, an amount whiich equates to around €176 000 (R3 million) a week.

    Lewandowski left the German Bundesliga side after many seasons and he is expected to undergo a medical and officially put pen to paper on a deal with the Spanish club.

    It is also reported in Europe that ‘Lewa’ had an agreement with Barca over personal terms for the last four months.

    He also shared his thoughts on the move, revealing what manager Xavi Hernandez told him before his move to Barca.

    “It was actually by coincidence, but we had good chemistry straight away, he told me: ‘I’ll wait for you,'” he told German publication Bild.

    “He told me we will work well together and we can achieve a lot. He has a clear plan on how to bring Barcelona back to the top.”

    The 33-year-old left the Bavarians after eight years of service following arrival from rivals, Borussia Dortmund, in 2014.

    He has helped the club win several trophies while netting 344 goals in 375 matches across all competitions.

    Lewandowski bagged a massive 19 trophies during his stay in Germany and that includes eight Bundesliga titles and the UEFA Champions League.
