SA leader Mmusi Maimane robbed by three gunmen in Cape Town

Social media users are still reacting to the news that One South Africa leader Mmusi Maimane is recovering from a robbery that occurred in Cape Town.

The recognised politician said unidentified gunmen entered a restaurant outlet where he was and forced everybody to lie down.

Maimane says the three men demanded items from the patrons before holding the management.

According to EWN, the Soweto-born former Democratic Alliance leader was among a number of clients who came face-to-face with three gunmen who stormed a bar in the Mother City.

“Three gunmen came into the store. They put everybody down and went table to table and collected items from various tables and held up the management,” he said.

“People who were in the restaurant were equally traumatised and so everyone had to give statements. Fortunately, no one was hurt. Some of the items were left on the side of the road as the chase went through.”

Meanwhile, Maimane announced that they were fortunate because the police and private security companies immediately attended to the scene.

Despite confirming that there was no patron that was hurt owing to the ugly incident, he lamented the event, saying it’s a reminder that there are high levels of crime in the country.

It is reported that the outspoken political leader was hosting his brother-in-law when the robbery took place.

Maimane has described the incident as surreal and something out of a movie but called on law law enforcement to urgently address such events.
