During a six-month romance, multi-award-winning singer and composer Zahara, actual name Bulelwa Mkutukana, said ‘yes’ to her lover Mpho Xaba.

On Friday, the “Loliwe” singer’s engineer boyfriend took her away from her family and friends and proposed to her.

She was under the notion she was going to be interviewed for a podcast. Xaba and his PA, on the other hand, arranged the entire setup with rose petals and champaign on hand.

When Xaba proposed, the singer’s family was in full celebration mode.

Tweeps reacted differently to the singer’s lovey-dovey image, in which she displayed her engagement ring while her fiancé moved in for a kiss from behind her.

“Zahara: As I Rise,” a Zahara SABC 1 reality programme, has been broadcast since early February.

The show provides her admirers with an all-access ticket to getting to know her, with no subject off-limits.

Who knows, maybe her romance will be included on the reality programme.
