Barcelona prepares staggering 200 million Euros offer for Lionel Messi

The latest update surrounding the future of Lionel Messi is that FC Barcelona is preparing to table an enticing offer for the Paris St. Germain star.

Messi is reportedly set to leave the French giants on a free transfer at the end of the current season and his former club has set a side a staggering 200 million Euros.

Marca reports that Barca are seriously putting their affairs in order as they look to re-sign their legendary former player.

According to the report, the Spanish La Liga side will sell some assets to raise funds to get their accounts signed off by La Liga.

“Barcelona are planning for the coming season is based on their ability to raise 200 million euros, either in the form of revenue or by reducing costs,” the paper reports.

The Spanish publication has it that Messi is the club’s main transfer target and it is preparing an economic viability plan to be presented to LaLiga shortly.

“If they are given the go-ahead, the club will be able to go to the market with certain guarantees and, above all, try to make Leo Messi’s return a reality,” adds the report.

Entertainment SA Sport understands that should the operation finally succeed and take place, the chances of seeing Messi returning to Barcelona would increase.

It is also mentioned in the article that the Argentine skipper is aware of the club’s interest in signing him, but also that the club’s financial situation is very delicate at this stage.

The club is looking for income while the player waits with PSG’s renewal offer on the table and a proposal from Arabia that would cover him in gold.

Remaining in Spain, reigning European champions, Real Madrid have signalled their intentions by tying down midfielder Toni Kroos, giving him a new contract.

At the same time, skipper Karim Benzema has agreed a contract extension with Madrid which may signal that the Frenchman is likely to move on next summer ahead of Endrick’s arrival from Brazil.

“Karim Benzema is set to leave Real Madrid in the summer of 2024 after agreeing a fresh one-year contract extension with the club,” The Mirror claims.

Benzema is said to have turned down a lucrative offer to move to Saudi Arabia as he opted to stay in European football.
