When now 27-year-old eventor, Copywriter & digital creator, Tsholo Rabotsho started DJing back in 2012, we can all agree that women who DJ were far and few in between. “I personally knew of DJ Zinhle and DJ C’ndo. The idea of ever becoming a DJ as a girl seemed so unrealistic and unattainable”, says Tsholo.
Years later, women who DJ are dominating the music industry and it has become an aspirational and possible career. All this teaches us about life is, Que Sera Sera – whatever will be, will be.
That is the entire concept behind Tsholo Rabotsho’s event, Que Sera Sera – the event is an after-work drinks gathering with great music in the background.
It happens every last Friday of the month at the stunning Vernacular, in Illovo on 1 Corlett Drive. The monthly event features an all-women DJ line-up of 4 of the dopest DJs right now. “There’s just too many incredibly talented DJs and not enough platforms to experience them. That’s why I came up with QSS”, says Tsholo Rabotsho.
The line-up has featured the likes of Rosetta D33P, Shera The DJ, Bina Binnz, Owami De DJ, Ms P, Miss Dimplezz, Zinny SA, Nikki Newlands, DJ Tlangz and many other great DJs.
The event launched on the 27 April 2023 as a pre-party for its sister event, Brunch With Tsholo (@brunchwithtsholo) – a ticketed lifestyle event centred around bottomless bubbly, great food underscored by good music. You can check out the Brunch With Tsholo Instagram here.
