Uncle Waffles reveals her first headline show in NYC

DJ Uncle Waffles has made an announcement for her very first international headline show, set to take place on the 22nd of September.

Sharing a video on her Instagram page, Uncle Waffles revealed that the show is going to be titled “I love Waffles”, and will be taking place in New York at the Great Hall Brooklyn.

She shared her excitement and she also thanked everyone who assisted in the production of her video shoot. Captioning her post, she said: “The year of curated shows. My first international HEADLINE SHOW!! And New York, you’re first up! Let’s have fun at The Great Hall Brooklyn.”

On her stories, Waffles shared that the theme and overall aesthetic of the video was inspired by a Hip Hop music video by City Girls rapper, JT. The video by JT is reminiscent of the 90s car was girl aesthetic.

This will not be the first time that the artist plays in the big leagues oversees, but she is definitely cementing herself as a fore runner in the Amapiano Industry, outside of South Africa.

Uncle Waffles became a global phenomenon after a clip of her dj’ing to Young Stunna’s Adiwele went viral in 2021 and since that time, she has toured various countries across the globe like Ghana, Tanzania, Paris, the United Kingdom, the USA and Dubai just to name a few.

The DJ has also performed at Coachella, Afronation and Boiler Room.

The Princess of Amapiano was also recently nominated for a BET award for Best International act, which was won by Nigerian afrobeats artist, Burna Boy.
