Last night, DJ Maphorisa posted a bedroom picture of Thuli Phongolo on his Instagram Stories. The picture had many questioning whether the pair had rekindled their spark after their break up went public, involving Maphorisa repossessing the car he had bought for Thuli.
The couple made headlines earlier after Maphorisa was arrested in May this year for allegedly assaulting Thuli at her Sandton home.
Maphorisa was granted bail amounting to R4 000 at his court appearance a day after his arrest. Thuli had filed a withdrawal statement on the same day.
The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA), however, decided to continue with the case.
“We can confirm that the case against DJ Maphorisa was withdrawn after he lodged representations with the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions which were successful. He lodged representations, and upon studying them we then took a decision to withdraw [the charges].
