South African singer, Zahara, is currently in critical condition at the hospital, battling liver complications.
According to an insider, suspicions arise that Zahara might have been intentionally poisoned by a family member. The distressing incident occurred a few days after her successful lobola negotiations.
It is worthy to note that Zahara displayed no signs of illness during her 36th birthday celebration on November 9. The lobola negotiations with the Xaba delegation seemed to progress smoothly, with both families expressing contentment over Zahara’s union.
However, complications arose after the Xaba family’s return to settle the remaining lobola amount.
The source suggests that interference in the process may have occurred due to resentment from a relative within Zahara’s family, who might have resorted to bewitching her.
The suspicion leans toward the possibility of poisoning or the introduction of muthi (traditional medicine) into Zahara’s drink during the gathering.
“A relative must have gotten pissed off when they heard that the Xaba family were coming back to pay the outstanding amount of lobola. We suspect that Zahara was either poisoned or muthi was put into her drink,” said the source.
