Mr Jollof claims Burna Boy rejected N1bn performance fee- ‘It’s too small’

Nigerian comedian and event organizer, Freedom Okpetoritse Atsepoyi, widely known as Mr Jollof, has asserted that singer Burna Boy turned down an offer of N1 billion to perform at a concert arranged by him and some investors in Warri, Delta State.

According to him, they had made an offer of $1 million (equivalent to N1.3 billion) to the singer’s team, but it was rejected on the basis that it fell short of Burna Boy’s usual performance fee.

Mr Jollof shared this revelation in a recent Instagram post, expressing it in Pidgin English: “Me and some investors reached out to Burna Boy’s team for a concert in Delta State for One Million US Dollars (1.3 billion Naira at today’s rate). Guess what? They said it’s too small.

“Burna Boy is no longer confined to the Nigerian scene because we didn’t fully maximize his potential before he ventured into the global music market. No kidding.”
