Salah signs to join Saudi Pro League

Former Premier League player Mido has claimed that Mohamed Salah has “signed a contract” with a team in the Saudi Pro League. Last summer, Al Ittihad, the champions of the Saudi Pro League, made a bid of £150 million for Salah, which was rejected by Liverpool. Salah, who is under contract with Liverpool until 2025, continues to be a target for clubs in the Middle East.

Mido’s statement suggests that Salah’s time in English football is coming to an end, as he has reportedly agreed to terms with an unnamed Saudi club ahead of the upcoming transfer window.

Salah joined Liverpool from Roma in 2017 and has since become one of Jurgen Klopp’s key players, winning several major trophies with the club. However, with Klopp set to step down as Liverpool manager at the end of the season, Salah’s future at the club is uncertain.

Currently, Salah is sidelined with a muscle injury he sustained in a recent match against Brentford. He missed Liverpool’s Carabao Cup final win over Chelsea and is also a doubt for their upcoming FA Cup fifth-round clash against Southampton. Klopp provided an update on Salah’s condition during a press conference, stating that it is “touch and go” for Salah and several other players who are dealing with injuries.
