In a revealing new interview, American NFL star Russell Wilson discussed his journey to becoming a stepfather.
Wilson shared that before meeting Ciara, he wrote down a list of his ideal wife’s qualities, including “faith, independence and someone that was going to love me the way my mom loved my dad.”
When Wilson first encountered Ciara and “little Future, who was 9 months at the time,” he felt an instant bond, saying the boy “crawls in my lap…it was like, ‘This is going to be my responsibility.'”
Although initially thinking “Are you sure this is what you want me to do?” Wilson embraced the challenge as a “gift,” explaining “I was ready for that.” Despite early concerns about stepping up as a parent, Wilson found purpose, saying “falling for Ciara and Future cemented his readiness to become both a husband and hands-on stepdad.”
By opening his heart to blended family life, Wilson discovered the loving relationship he always wanted.
